Dog next to Hydrant - Iceland By David Pexton
British-born, and now Brooklyn-based, contemporary photographer David Pexton is a master of the lens. His ardent passion for the city that never sleeps is infectious: roaming the metropolis, Pexton is able to capture every tiny detail of the urban space, or express the character of a passer-by in even the smallest gestural expression. With an exceptional eye for colour and composition, Pexton's work - which incorporates 35mm, Medium Format and Instant film - really packs a punch. 'Dog by Hydrant, Iceland' is a case in point: a brightly coloured fire hydrant, in blocky tones of remand yellow, stands on a drab, grey street. Tied to the hydrant is a small dog, peering intensely down the camera lens and Pexton has managed to capture both the comedy and the beauty of the scene, with exceptional flare.
