Spirestar Black By Sam Kerridge
Sam Kerridge is a London based illustrator and printmaker. His work draws on the city and the urban surroundings, working architectural detail in the fabric of each piece. Kerridge begins by deconstructing the fundaments of architecture, reassembling them to create kaleidoscopic geometric images. 'Spirestar 1' depicts a Moravian-style star, assembled from an array of Church spires, each differing in length, shape and architectural style. Beautifully illustrated, Kerridge has rendered the image in the style of an architect's sketch, using only black ink to create a three dimensional shape with graphic sensitivity and a distinctly surreal character, reminiscent of early Dali sketches.
