Happy, Each, Brighter By Adam Bridgland

Royal College of Art graduate Adam Brigland fuses the kitsch with the everyday, revelling in a sense of nostalgia, to create a colourful and emotive contemporary aesthetic. 'Happy, Each, Brighter' deploys deft collage techniques to bring the past up-to-date. A posy of flowers dominates the print, a collection of large, efflorescent roses in shades of pink, red, and deep maroon. Set against the titular text, the floral display evokes the classic Victorian scrap book, but Brigland has added modern, abstract elements, from coloured daubs of paint, to graphic, monochrome shapes. Splicing together anachronistic elements results in a timeless and truly distinctive print: this bouquet is a keeper! Please note due to the hand finished nature of this print, each print is unique.
