'Doubly Divine' is from Louise McNaught's series of works which explores the idea of elevating the status of 'freaks of nature'. The use of fluorescent ink looks like energy radiating from the animal, and intensity created around the eyes, radiating from down the neck. Louise McNaught uses a lot of hummingbirds in her work as she finds them to be magical and otherworldly, 'they are so tiny and beautiful they almost seem as they are not part of this world' (in the artists own words).
